Our Story: Why We’ve Been Passionate About Relationships Since 1999.

Cast your mind back to 1999. The world was a different place. Dial-up internet was still humming along, and the idea of shopping for intimacy products online was, for most, a daunting and seedy experience. We knew there had to be a better way.

The problem was everywhere. The adult toy catalogues of the day felt more like pornography than shopping. The industry was dominated by cold, impersonal, and often intimidating environments. It was focused on the mechanics, not the meaning. We saw a desperate need for a safe shopping space that treated intimacy as a natural, healthy part of life—a space built on trust, education, and empowerment.

We did make it personal

But our story also had a personal beginning. I’ve always been fascinated by the magic of mail order; the simple joy of a package arriving on your doorstep. I’m also an inner-geek at heart, with a love for data, automation, and the magic of publishing a website.

The issue was, it was just me, working alone. But I had a powerful belief that remains our guiding star today: happier, healthier intimate lives lead to happier, healthier people and stronger relationships.

We didn’t just want to sell sex toys in the UK; we wanted to be a trusted guide, a resource, and a safe harbour for people exploring this side of their lives.

And so, Passion Online was born. It started with a very basic website and a dining room table that doubled as a packing station. As our reputation for discreet, trustworthy service grew, so did we. We moved premises several times, each upgrade a testament to the community we were building.

The real turning point came when we found our current home on City Road. For the first time, we had a space large enough for a dedicated Cardiff showroom and a proper warehouse. No more packing boxes after dinner!

But while our reach has grown, our core mission has never wavered. We still welcome in-person customers to our Cardiff shop every day, offering the same expert advice and warm welcome we did on day one.
